September 2026 Meeting Minutes

Mike called the meeting to order. Darris led the pledge, Susan gave the prayer.

Motions

Three motions passed:

• Motion passed to hold the 2027 Hamfest at the high school.
• Motion passed to make Nelson Lawhorn a lifetime member of the club. He donated two towers and antennas to the club. (His call sign was not recorded.)
• Motion passed to use call sign KG4FZR-9 for the EOC and KG4FZR-8 for the club trailer, for digital modes.

Officer Reports

President Mike Elkins: Announced a new club address, PMB 215, Athens, TN. The 2025 taxes have been filed. The 501(c)(3) application has been reapplied for.

VP Bobby Murphy: Talked about Pumpkin Town and using the high school for the Hamfest. Explained SSID use on digital modes.

Trustee Kevin Cornwell: Reported on the repeaters on Star Mountain.

New Business

• EOC Station: Kenny talked about operating the station at the EOC.
• Club Shirts: Bill and Herb got prices for T-shirts.
