June 2026 Meeting Minutes

Officer Reports
President Mike Elkins: No report.
Treasurer Alicia Parham: Not present.
Secretary Chan Patrick: Corrections or additions, passed. Old motions: motion made to make Crystal the club attorney, motion passed. Final tally was approximately $312.45; requested reimbursement, motion made to reimburse the difference, motion passed. Dale suggested making 3 banners saying "Public Welcome", motion made for Dale to look into getting banners, motion passed.
VP Bobby Murphy: Announced the passing of Randy Sitzler. Field Day at EK Baker was a success; many of the kids took it upon themselves to use the radios. Field Day this year is June 27-28 at the pavilion at Regional Park; meet at Hardee's at 8am, then collect the communications trailer and be set up by approximately 10am; runs 2pm Saturday to 2pm Sunday. Discussion about food for Field Day, motion made for $150, passed. May use Darris' call sign again.
Hamfest (July 18): Managers needed for each section. Joe, Harry, and Crystal will handle the parking lot, hoping to have at least 6 volunteers; trustees will assist with canopies, water, and signs. An indoor manager will oversee vendors, dealers, and individuals. Chan will handle club tables, money, and tickets. Volunteers needed to help with the food vendor and a money coordinator for ticket sales. May have a golf cart to run between areas. Someone needed to post directional signs toward the school and collect them after the event; signs will also go up around the fence. New tickets have been ordered (1,000); attendees keep the small stub and receive a small red ticket. Additional tickets are $2 each. Promotion will begin after the Knoxville Hamfest. Prices already set; working on getting more vendors.
Trustee Kevin Cornwell: No new updates for the repeaters.

New Business
- Website: Darris paid $49 for hosting and $24 for the domain (both one year). Discussion made to turn the account over to Kevin, paid and transferred.
- Chili Supper: November 7th annual Chili Supper will be held at Southern Events; this year it will also be a chili cook-off. Language in promotions may need to be updated accordingly.
- 501(c)(3) and Articles of Incorporation: Voted on changes to the 501(c)(3) status and on the revised articles of the constitution. Motion to approve the changes, passed. Motion to approve the revised articles of the constitution, passed.
- Participant Exercise: Kenny reported there was a participant exercise earlier today.
- Jody Brantley: Jody Brantley had a heart transplant. Thanks given for everyone's prayers. Motion made to send a $100 gas card to the Brantley family, passed. Susan noted that a card had already been sent.
